I am a senior book and magazine editor who lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I love books and the freedom to read whatever makes me happy: both fiction and nonfiction. I have always been obsessed with the relationship between literature and life and its role in society. As an editor, I have edited many books, but never get tired of the grand adventure of reading. We must never underestimate the redeeming power of fiction in our lives. The idea that there is something out there that is far, far bigger than our lives sustains some of our lives. I am the co-editor of URBAN ODYSSEYS: KL STORIES.

Eric, what exactly is this this?
Two or three invited guests, usually published writers, are invited to talk about their books and the writing process, do a little reading and interact with an audience comprising mostly those who love books and the writing life and hope to publish a book one day. All are welcome.
I'll definitely be there but don't know the location well. Hope I won't get lost.

Eric - Kim is coming all the way from Penang for next Saturday's Breakfast Club!
Kim - you have my number so call me if you need a ride or something. Not from Penang, of course.
Eric - I really have no idea where Bangsar Village is, but I'll find my way there by hook or by crook.
Chet - Thanks. Actually there'll be two groups coming in two cars -one from Penang and another from Kulim - and all family members. Sounds like we're having a clan meeting in KL!
Actually, I've also made plans to meet up with friends who belong to children's book writing groups in KL.
Hopefully more aspiring children's book writers and illustrators will attend this MPH event. See you there!
Kim - I have a doctor's appointment that morning and will be coming from the clinic. But if you know the mosque in Bangsar, you will see BVII. It's the building with the red sash around its outer facade.
